Immaculate Heart of Mary Renovation

Atlanta, GA

A Spiritual Awakening

Long time clients of ours, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church, came to us with the desire to convert their old, original church building into a Parish Hall. The original space was completed in the 1960s, so they were looking to modernize the look and feel and add some extra space and details to make it prime for weddings and other events.

Simple, Yet Striking

Our design solution is simple, yet eye catching: with a suspended, open coffered ceiling in the main hall that preserves views of the original sloped wood ceiling above. The 9,000 square feet updated floor plan includes a state of the art kitchen, activity room, conference room, storage spaces and the centerpiece Parish Hall.

Lessons Learned

Churches aren’t known for going light on details, and our goal was to deliver a timeless design for IHM—one that’s ornate enough to host special celebrations throughout the year, and for many years to come.
