With meticulously designed townhomes made for broad appeal, The Reserve at Grober Hill oozes with charm. Every townhome has curb appeal and a quintessential low country look that blends in nicely with its surrounding neighbors.
Located in the swoon worthy small town of Port Royal, SC, the site sits near the Broad River and a quick drive from lively Savannah and Hilton Head Island. An up and coming area lacking in multi-family, this was an opportunity for us to design a homesite that feels picture-perfectly matched with the single-family homes in the area.
The federal style 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom townhomes have wide market appeal, with oversized windows that let in floods of natural light and large great rooms that open up to expansive outdoor porches or second story balconies. The exterior amenities bring a sense of community and calm, with lots of outdoor space for the social at heart and a small pond with a gazebo overlook.
Our greatest challenge with this project was not the site itself, but the wishes of the local community. The town really wanted The Reserve to feel like it belongs alongside its single family neighbors. That meant we had to aesthetically compliment the area’s Federal architecture, adding large white columns and dormers as well as expansive balconies and impeccably manicured greenspaces. This was less of a lesson and more of a challenge to match the local character with authenticity and thoughtful details.
