This mixed-use development sits just across the river from Chattanooga. An area that’s ripe with revitalization, Red Bank offers a luxury residence that’s a quick hop, skip and jump from Chattanooga’s happening downtown. The property consists of a four-story split residential building with several live-work units on the ground floor, and a one-story retail building with a boutique coffee shop and pizza restaurant.
Located in an urban, post industrial area, the aesthetic is modern and lofty with a flat roof and fiber cement-meets-wood exterior. This look blends nicely with both the cityscape across the river as well as the natural landscape of the surrounding mountains. With modern amenities to boot, including kayak and bike storage, a dog park, pool, clubhouse and fitness center, the contemporary space makes way for outdoor enthusiasts and city dwellers alike.
The land we were given to play with is long, narrow and sloping. In order for us to fit enough parking that’s accessible from the road, we had to build a 25 foot retaining wall behind to give it an extra 12 foot lift. As with any challenging site plan, we had to rework the design to accommodate these ever-necessary parking spots and allow for easy flow in and back out to the public roads.
